  • South Haven Dial-A-Ride
    • Monday – Friday: 6:45am to 8:00pm (last call 7:30pm)
    • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00am to 4:00pm (last call 3:30pm)
  • Paw Paw Dial-A-Ride
    • Monday – Thursday: 10:00am to 4:00pm (last call 3:30pm)
    • Friday: 10:00am to 3:00pm (last call 2:30pm)

Method/Rules for Scheduling a Ride

Call VBPT Scheduling Office at 269-427-7921 or 1-800-828-2015 . Rides are reserved on a first-called/first-served, space available basis.

Reservations are taken Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 7:30 PM. Capacity and schedules are limited, so please call as soon as possible. Rides are scheduled one to 14 days in advance, counting the day you call as day one. You may call on the same day you need service and VBPT will do their best to schedule your ride.

Van Buren Public Transit offers curb-to-curb dial-a-ride transportation which services the South Haven and Paw Paw areas.

  • South Haven Dial-A-Ride serves all of the City of South Haven, all of South Haven Township, Geneva Township West of 68th St., and all of Covert Township (click here for a map of South Haven Dial-A-Ride service area)
  • Paw Paw Dial-A-Ride serves the Villages of Paw Paw, Lawton, and Mattawan. (click here for a map of Paw Paw Dial-A-Ride service area)

Accessibility & Eligibility

Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility

This service does not have complementary paratransit because it is door-to-door, origin-to-destination service, not fixed route.  Lift equipped vehicles are available to wheelchair or other mobility device users.

Veterans, seniors (60+) and persons with disabilities are eligible to receive reduced fare. Seniors and Veterans ride free of charge with a VBPT Transit Rider Card or a Veterans Rider Card. Persons with disabilities are eligible to receive a half fare rate ($1.25) with a Transit Riders Card.

Veterans, seniors, and persons with disabilities must complete and submit the Transit Rider Card Application to become eligible for free or reduced fare when riding VBPT buses.

The following may be provided as certification with your application:

  • Seniors (60+) proof of age: Birth Certificate Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
  • Veterans proof of Veteran/Military status: DD214 or DD256, Military ID, VA Healthcare Card, Veteran ID, State ID with Veteran designation, or Driver’s License with Veteran designation
  • Persons with Disabilities proof of disability: Medicare Disability Form/Card, SSD Disability Form/Card, VA Disability Letter, Physician or agency certification

Transit Service Accessibility

This is a door-to-door, origin-to-destination service. Lift equipped vehicles are available to wheelchair or other mobility device users. This service is accessible to individuals with disabilities as well as open to the general public.
