Method/Rules for Scheduling a Ride

Fixed routes run on a fixed schedule and bus stop locations do not change. It is not necessary to schedule fixed route rides.

If you are using Marq-Tran’s paratransit services, call 906-226-1112 to schedule your ride up to 7-days in advance.

Fares vary by route.

One-way fares for the general public:

  • Marquette, Ishpeming, Neguanee Route: $1.60
  • Marquette, Sawyer, Gwinn Route: $1.60
  • Northern Marquette Route: $0.80
  • South Marquette Route: $0.80
  • Marquette Shopper Route: $0.80
  • Ishpeming Shopper Route: $0.80
  • Marquette Mall Route: $0.80
  • Palmer Route: $3.20
  • Negaunee Route: $0.80
  • Western Shopper Route: $3.20

Reduced Fare

Reduced fares are available for:

  • Seniors (60+)
  • Persons with Disabilities
  • Students (K-12) & college students with valid ID

Reduced one-way fares:

  • Marquette, Ishpeming, Neguanee Route: $0.80
  • Marquette, Sawyer, Gwinn Route: $0.80
  • Northern Marquette Route: $0.40
  • South Marquette Route: $0.40
  • Marquette Shopper Route: $0.40
  • Ishpeming Shopper Route: $0.40
  • Marquette Mall Route: $0.40
  • Palmer Route: $1.60
  • Negaunee Route: $0.40
  • Western Shopper Route: $1.60

Preschool children ride free of charge with a paying adult.

Accessibility & Eligibility

Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility

Marq-Tran provides complementary paratransit within 3/4 of a mile from all fixed routes for seniors and individuals with verified disabilities who are unable to use the fixed route system. For eligibility, contact Marq-Tran at 908-225-1112 to request a verification form be sent to you. This form requires a physician’s verification of disability/inability to use fixed route buses.

Seniors (60+) and students with valid identification are eligible for reduced fare. Individuals with disabilities who fill out the verification form and are eligible for paratransit services are also eligible for reduced fare. Contact Marq-Tran at 908-225-1112 to request a verification form be sent to you.


Transit Service Accessibility

Marq-Tran fixed route buses are lift-equipped for wheelchair or other mobility device users. However, complementary paratransit is available within 3/4 of a mile of all Marq-Tran fixed routes for people with disabilities who are unable to get to or board at fixed route stops.


Additional Notes

Marq-Tran also operates door-to-door service for those who may reside outside of the paratransit 3/4 quarters of a mile limit. All Marq-Tran door-to-door buses are lift equipped. See Marq-Tran Door-to-Door Service for more information.
