Hours of Operation

Hours of operation vary by route. Fixed route schedules can be found by going to https://www.mtaflint.org/primary-routes/ and clicking the routes on the bottom left side of the page. You can also use the Moovit Trip Planner to find out which routes are available at the time you need to take your trip.

Peak Period route schedules can be found at https://www.mtaflint.org/peak-period-routes/.

Method/Rules for Scheduling a Ride

Fixed routes run on a set schedule and do not need to be schedules in advance. See the fixed route schedules by visiting  https://www.mtaflint.org/primary-routes/ and clicking the routes on the bottom left side of the page. You can also use the Moovit Trip Planner to find out which routes are available at the time you need to take your trip.

Flint MTA also runs Peak Period routes that are designed to operate near Primary Routes during high ridership times on peak days only. For a list of these routes/schedules, click here.

Operating Area

Fourteen fixed routes throughout the City of Flint’s service area.

Primary fixed routes are designed to travel major traffic arteries leading to secondary arteries where all major businesses, shopping centers, hospitals, colleges and other institutions of the community are located.

You may also enter your starting and ending addresses on the Moovit Trip Planner to tell you which routes to use for your trip.

Flint MTA also runs Peak Period Routes that are designed to operate near Primary Routes during high ridership times on peak days only. For a list of these routes/schedules, click here.

Standard Fare

Regular Fare: $1.75

Transfers: $0.10

Reduced Fare

Reduced Fare: $0.85

Available for:

  • Seniors (65+)
  • Medicare Cardholders
  • ADA Certified Persons with Disabilities

Accessibility & Eligibility

Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility

Paratransit (Your Ride) is available for people who are unable to use the Flint MTA Fixed Route service due to a disability. You must apply for ADA certification to use Your Ride paratransit service. This application asks for a health care or rehabilitation professional who is familiar with your disability’s contact information for verification purposes. You can find this application here. Please see Flint MTA Your Ride for more information about complementary paratransit services.

Fixed route buses are lift equipped and accessible for individuals with disabilities who are able to access fixed route stops and use the fixed route system.

Seniors (65+) and Medicare Cardholders may show their identification or a Medicare card to receive reduced fare.

Individuals with disabilities must complete the MTA Eligibility Card Application to be eligible for a reduced fare when using fixed route service. (Please note, this is a separate application from the ADA Certification application). This application requires a portion to be filled out by a health or agency professional and additional information describing the individual’s disability to be submitted on a doctor’s script or letterhead of the agency.
