CATA MSU Campus Routes
Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA)Hours of Operation
Six routes run every 10 minutes, Mon-Friday 7 a.m until 2:30 a.m.
- Route 30 South & East Neighborhoods (service concludes at 2:30 a.m.)
- Route 31 Brody & East Neighborhoods (service concludes at 2:30 a.m.)
- Route 32 Commuter Lot – Snyder Hall – Clinical Center (service concludes at 7:15 p.m.)
- Route 33 North & South Neighborhoods (service concludes at 10:30 p.m.)
- Route 38 Spartan Village (service concludes at 10:45 p.m.)
- Route 39 Unversity Village (service concludes at 2 a.m.)
Three weekend routes run on the weekends 9 a.m. until 2:30 a.m.:
- Route 34 Brody Neighborhood – University Village
- Route 35 South Neighborhood – Spartan Village (service concludes at 2:10 a.m.)
- Route 36 East Neighborhood
These routes only run during fall and spring semesters. These dates are:
- Monday, Aug. 28 – Sunday, Dec. 17
- Monday, Jan. 8 – Sunday, April 28
Method/Rules for Scheduling a Ride
CATA MSU Campus Routes are fixed routes and do not need to be scheduled. If using CATA’s complementary paratransit, CATA Spec-Tran, these rides do require advanced reservation scheduling. See CATA Spec-Tran for more information.

This service is free. There is no reduced fare for this service.
Accessibility & Eligibility
Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility
CATA operates on-campus Spec-Tran service 7 days a week for passengers with disabilities who cannot use fixed-route.
Spec-Tran MSU passengers are eligible for free passes through MSU’s Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities.
Transit Service Accessibility
For those able to get to a fixed route stop, all CATA fixed route buses are lift/ramp equipped and accessible for wheelchair users and other mobility equipment.
For those unable to use CATA’s fixed route system, see CATA Spec-Tran for more information about CATA’s complementary curb-to-curb paratransit service. *Note that although there is a Spec-Tran fare, Spec-Tran MSU passengers are eligible for free passes through MSU’s Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities.
