Joint Statement from Disability Organizations in Support of the Michigan Secretary of State’s Response Efforts
A 93-year-old man living in a nursing facility was given Benadryl to control his behavior. This caused him to become drowsy and he fell. He was injured and ultimately died. A complaint was filed with the Bureau of Public Licensing. The man’s nurse was found to have been negligent in her delegation of her professional responsibility and was fined.
