Joint Statement from Disability Organizations in Support of the Michigan Secretary of State’s Response Efforts
A 21-year-old man with an intellectual disability and multiple sclerosis was denied eligibility for Community Mental Health (CMH) services and appealed. A DRM attorney assessed the case and negotiated for services on the man’s behalf. Ultimately the CMH agreed to provide services without a hearing. The man was allowed to remain in the community with the appropriate services.
