CATA does not operate on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day.

Method/Rules for Scheduling a Ride

The Redi-Ride Phone Line is open:

  • Monday through Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CATA requires that trips:

  • Be scheduled a minimum of four hours in advance of the desired pickup times.* In Mason buses can be at your curb within 30 minutes of your call.
  • Rides needed Monday through Friday before 10:30 a.m. or Saturday before noon must be scheduled no later than 5 p.m. the day before.*
  • Trips are scheduled in the order requests are received and are limited to the availability of space on the bus.
  • Advanced reservations will be limited to no more than seven days prior to desired trip date(s).

*Applies only to Delhi and Meridian Redi-Rides.

Fares

Standard Fare

Regular one-way fare:

  • Meridian Redi-Ride: $2.50
  • Delhi Redi-Ride: $1.25
  • Mason Redi-Ride: $1.25

Applies to adults under 62 years of age not eligible for the discounted fare and students with valid college or CATA Student ID card

Free transfers to fixed-route service (request transfer ticket upon boarding). When transferring to a higher fare such as CATA Rural Service, the difference in fare must be paid upon boarding.


Reduced Fare

Discounted/reduced one-way fare:

  • Meridian Redi-Ride: $1.25
  • Delhi Redi-Ride: $1.25
  • Mason Redi-Ride: $0.60

Available for:

  • Medicare cardholders
  • Seniors age 62 and older with valid CATAClub card
  • Persons with disabilities with valid CATAClub or ADA card

Veterans from all U.S. Armed Forces and Reserves ride FREE every day on all CATA services when a valid U.S. Dept. of Defense ID, U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs ID, DD 214 form, driver’s license or state ID with Veteran designation, or Veteran bus pass (available upon request at the CATA Transportation Center in downtown Lansing, the Multimodal Gateway in East Lansing and CATA’s Administrative Offices in South Lansing) is presented.

Accessibility & Eligibility

Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility

There is no complementary paratransit for CATA Redi-Ride services because it is curb-to-curb, demand response service, not fixed route. CATA Redi-Ride vehicles are lift/ramp equipped and accessible to wheelchair users or other mobility device users.

To qualify for reduced fare eligibility, you must have a Medicare Card or apply for one of the following

CATAClub Annual Card –  issued to persons with a temporary disability. They are valid for a calendar year. Click here for the application.

CATAClub Lifetime Card – issued to persons with a permanent disability or persons 62+ years. They are valid for up to ten years depending on when you apply.
