Method/Rules for Scheduling a RideThis is a fixed route service. Scheduling is not required because routes run on a set schedule to/from fixed locations or bus stops.
For more information about bus stop locations and route schedules, see TheRapid System Map and corresponding guide. Riders may also use the Trip Planner (on the System Map page) to enter their starting and ending addresses and view their trip by quickest route.

Operating Area
TheRapid Fixed Routes operate in the Grand Rapids metro area. These routes also include two Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines – the Silver Line and Laker Line. The Silver Line route connects Grand Rapids, Kentwood and Wyoming, mainly serving the Division Avenue Corridor. The Laker Line connects commuters east and west via Lake Michigan Drive (M45).

Accessibility & Eligibility
Paratransit/Reduced Fare Eligibility
Paratransit service is available to those who are unable to use TheRapid Fixed Route service due to a qualifying disability. See TheRapid GO!Bus for more information.
Seniors, Medicare card holders, and those with qualifying disabilities who are able to use the fixed route buses are eligible to receive reduced fare. Individuals with disabilities must complete an application that contains a portion to be filled out by the applicant and a portion to be completed by a professional to verify the qualifying disability.

Transit Service Accessibility
All of The Rapid’s buses, including the Silver Line, are accessible for mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, electric scooters, walkers, and crutches. Bus operators are trained to assist customers with disabilities boarding or exiting the vehicle.
Paratransit/GO!Bus service is available for thus unable to use the fixed route system due to disability.
