CATA Shopping Bus
Capital Area Transit Authority (CATA)Hours of Operation
The Shopping Bus operates Monday through Friday, traveling to major shopping locations each week.

CATA does not operate on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day.

Operating Area
Provides regularly scheduled weekday, curb-to-curb trips from area senior housing complexes in Lansing, Haslett, and Holt to grocery stores and shopping centers.

Fares
Standard Fare
$2.00 per round trip
Children under 42 inches tall ride free when accompanied by an adult.
Reduced Fare
There is no reduced fare for this service.
Veterans from all U.S. Armed Forces and Reserves ride FREE every day on all CATA services when a valid U.S. Dept. of Defense ID, U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs ID, DD 214 form, driver’s license or state ID with Veteran designation, or Veteran bus pass (available upon request at the CATA Transportation Center in downtown Lansing, the Multimodal Gateway in East Lansing and CATA’s Administrative Offices in South Lansing) is presented.

There is no complementary paratransit for this service because it is an accessible, curb-to-curb service, not fixed route. Buses are lift/ramp equipped and accessible to wheelchair users and other mobility equipment users.
There is no reduced fare for the CATA Shopping Bus. Fare is $2.00 per round trip.
